The American Bullmastiff Association
Rescue Program has available for adoption purebred Bullmastiffs who have
become homeless and in need of care for a variety of unfortunate reasons. |
|
|
|
Homeless Bullmastiffs
are found in shelters, picked up as strays, surrendered by their owners or
abandoned at vets or kennels. Once admitted into the ABA Rescue Program
they are individually placed into foster care where they are evaluated for
health and/or temperament issues, rehabilitated and eventually posted to
the web site as "available for adoption". |
|
|
|
Many of our Rescued
Bullmastiffs have gone on to become Therapy Dogs with the Delta Society
Therapy Dog Program, obedience dogs, working towards an AKC obedience
title and wonderful family companions. |

To inquire about
adoption and to find a dog who will suit your current living situation use
the following guidelines: |
|
|
-
Fill out and submit
the Adoption Application.
-
-
Once the
application is on file, frequent the following pages and read the
history and needs of each individual dog until you feel you have found
an ideal match.
-
-
Contact the person
listed as the "Foster Home" to discuss the dog's specific needs in more
detail.
-
-
The foster person
will review your application and possibly set up a meeting with you and
the rescue dog in their care.
-
-
Be honest with what
you have to offer as a "family" and practice patience with finding a dog
you will have the ability to provide for.
