Hoover's Rescue

He is very sweet and spends most of his time sleeping. He is so skinny you can easily see every bone in his body and he shivers constantly.

He is now in the hands of his Rescue Angels and will spend several months of treatment and recovery while he gets ready for (someday) his forever home.

He will be with us for a least two months while he undergoes treatment for his heartworm although we are accepting much needed donations for his veterinary care.

Applications for his adoption are always welcome, don't hesitate to offer this darling dog a place to call HOME. He will make a wonderfully sweet companion.

Hoover's forgiveness comes so easily, it's hard to believe.

Check back often, we will be adding more photos of him as he recovers.

Hi... I'm Hoover. It's hard to believe, but here I am!!

I've made my way into the hands of angles and am now settling down for some healing and pretty nice TLC. This is long deserved as you can see I've been left to survive on my own for a long time.

I'm just a young dog, I think I'm only a year old! While most puppies weigh 50 or 60 lbs at some time in their life, on the scale I am 59 lbs. I think that's less than what I'm supposed to be. I'm really, really tall (someone said I'm so "leggy") so I have lots of space for plenty more weight.

I'm a Bullmastiff although all you see when you look at me is bones, ribs and a bumpy spine. I will fatten up, just you wait and see. The vet said I had all kinds of intestinal parasites, I was "infested", from being out on my own. YUKKO!! With pills I am supposed to be ok in just a short time. Being so alone has taken away all of my strength. I can't believe I made it this far... I just need some sleep.

I've been given a mountain of blankets in my kennel, not only for warmth but to cushion my little bony body. They gave me a  wonderful sweatshirt so I would stop shivering.  I love it. I'm the kind of guy who will never take it off, I'll wear this sweatshirt all the time! They are so nice to me here. They say I am going to be fine and that someone will take me home someday.

I have heartworm, whip worm, hookworm and a bad cough. I guess I have kennel cough. I'm pretty sad and ill, no one took care of me until I got here. I'm so lucky... they named me Hoover and promised me a good life. I respect that and promised them that I'll always be a good boy.

I am is a gorgeous red brindle male (I saw myself in the reflection of many windows). I have big beautiful brown eyes (my foster home will get you a close up photo and post it here so you can look into them and see how big my heart is). I can curl up into a tiny ball, only as big as a pillow, and now (this is the bonus...) I come with my own sweatshirt!! Maybe you will adopt me, I will love you forever.

Spend all my time waiting
For that second chance
For a break that will make it okay
There’s always some reason
To feel not good enough
And it’s hard at the end of the day

I need some distraction
Oh, beautiful release
Memories seep from my veins
I may be empty
And weightless, and maybe
I’ll find some peace tonight

In the arms of the angel
May I'll find some comfort here

I'm in the arms of the angels
